Hello everyone! I went to Tunisia for my 1st time in October and like most people met a nice guy on holiday and have spent virtually every day since speaking with the boy.... As he alas works in animation I was wondering if anyone knew of any ratty goings on at the Riu Bellevue Park hotel recently. I haven't seen anything about anyone who is now at that hotel on here and he hasn't shown any of the "rat" signs yet, but I have been quite shocked at reading some of your stories, as he would like me to go back and visit him I thought i'd have a sniff about 1st! Welcome to TLR. I hope that he turns out to be the real deal and that you don't find anything. I thought I remembered this hotel being mentioned, but maybe it was another hotel with the name Bellevue in the title. Did you try doing a facebook search of him as well as for fanpages and groups for that hotel?
There was a guy at the hotel in some early threads but it is not him thankfully, he hasn't been there that long! I have been a bit crazy and hunted on FB and this tagged site for him, but I haven't seen him on any. His ex girlfriend is on some Tunisian fan sites, but i'm starting to think he is a good guy and i'm just paranoid! It's the english guys that have made me this way ha-ha!!xx
welcome to the forum melb. you've made a good stop on the way to happiness. there's good and bad everywhere and within everybody. keep your wits about you and enjoy tunisia. it's a great place with nice people. i can tell your off on the right foot, as the bad things you may read here are but a minority. it's up to you to believe what you see. if it smells like a chicken it could be a rat...cheers :coffee:
Hey guys, please bare with me..I'm new!! I was also at Bellevue Park around the time that you were there and met someone cool...I think I had pretty much the same experience as you - there was nothing suspicious about him and he seemed like a cool, down to earth guy...He was one of the 'tamer' ones out of all the guys! I decided to 'end things' after a few weeks back in london even though I still liked him and he didn't really accept it..but I had my doubts - about guys in general - but now I've found out about another girl..quite probably a long term girlfriend and although things are over between us - I am quite gutted! I feel sorry for her..and for myself to be quite honest!.. I dunno if she is just a friend and I'm over thinking it or she is his girl...Like your guy - I can't find much online about him - Dunno if that's a good or bad thing! As long as it's not the same guy..as yours! lollz
Hello LadyVee and welcome! I have tried to distance myself from mine lately, as he is still thinking I am going to visit him in 2 weeks.......however many times I have told him I'm not! This may sound wierd but he is so sweet I was actually trying to find info out on him to make it easier for me to turn my back on him, I'm not very good with long distance relationships in the same country let alone Tunisia! What is the name of your suspected rat? I know mine did have an English ex who he was still mighty angry with , something about her being rude about him online, but alas I've never found it out..... But - he's basically the one that looks Different to the others and Not a natural Tunisian! Dunno if that's a big enough hint! It should be..lol Who's your guy, is he in animation? The dude I met told me out there that half of the animation were married!!! 0_0
Hello ladies, I hope you get to the bottom of this and you both move on. Animation usually spells trouble (not always - but usually), same for waiters. I joked once about what where the chances of me finding the one good, genuine guy in the tourist industry in Tunisia. Well I found out with bells on! One woman who knows him told me "You found the biggest rat in Tunisia never mind Hammamet!". She was right. I could never have dreamed how bad he was really. Probably lucky I didn't know. Whatever your outcome, you'll both be fine because you both seem to be wary so that's good. Take care girls. Mx
Ooh yes, I think i know who you mean and know it's not the same person! Mine was the 'annoying one' who spent most his time getting thrown in the pool by guests or in the gym! At least we were nearly the same height!! I feel bad questioning him as all he has ever been is sweet to me, but as M says it's good to be a little wary! In fact the only male I have lent money to is someone who lives by and his g'friend does not know. Or she'd prob kill me...how do I get into these messes! men and me hey! X

Thanks Madame! Sorry for the late reply guys, had to step into reality and get some work done for a few days! I think I know who you're talking about Melb5 - Woody Woodpecker guy? The buffed up one!!! I don't want to start any trouble, so don't take my word for it completely..but when I was out there 'my guy' said that - the person I presume to be your guy - wasn't married but...has a girlfriend..a scottish girl...she was also at the hotel around the same time as me - he pointed her out to me but I didn't pay much attention..sorry.. I don't know If I'm the only 'other' to know this ...doubt it..but like I said before I don't want to start drama and look bitter so if you do chose to confront him - or maybe you are the scottish girl and I've made a mistake (hopefully)!!!!!!! please don't mention my relation to his colleague! But It's only fair for you to know! Three/Four of the other guys are married...I don't know how their wives sleep easy at night..I liked my guy but I think it'd have driven me crazy knowing he's out there exposed to hundreds of fresh blood each week.. x p.s. how long were you out there for?
Hi LadyVee! That is him 'i love my job' muscle man! I was only out there for a week, Went 4th October! He never mentioned a Scottish lass but then he wouldn't! I didnt notice anyone else around him that week he mentioned an ex from Essex, Gemma I think. I'm not Scottish but am in scotland for the next 6 weeks perhaps I should hunt her down lol!! I would be quite happy for there to be someone else, I feel bad at the moment for rejecting his calls etc, very persistent that he is, but at least I know he's doing ok given what's going on out there. I am actually finding the barman at my hotel attractive but I should think they are as bad as animation team members, and I was able to understand the Tunisian accent better than the Scottish!! Whit ya tawkin aboot? Lols hehe! Yeh, i'll agree...the Tunisians way of speaking english is much easier to understand than us Scots. I think we talk to fast for a start lols!
Sorry about the Mel - didn't want to write it on here, but I don't know how to private message on here..all too new to me!!! I mean if u wanna, still speak to him or whatever - I was there in Nov. For all I know, my guy might have known I was the 'soppy' type and tried to make it seem like all the guys are married and faithful and whatever - he could be lying..but he didn't half go on about it...(Tchito, Sofyane and Manolo are apparently married to foreign european girls) - almost like he felt it was coming up to his time. It's a shame cos they're a right laugh, really cool guys! Sofyane and Abdoul seem real sweet and genuine...never know though - but one thing is u cnt trust animators!!!! @Karma - u can't leave us hanging like that!!! lol Sof? Sofyane? He seemed cool..
It's ok LadyVee, I think I am making the right choice about keeping my distance, if I go back and see him again it won't be the same as 1st time, it may of course be better but I'm thinking the great holiday put blinkers on me anyway. Like how he got the arse on with me when I said no to meeting him one eve, a proper 7yr old stop he had, I wouldn't let that happen normally!! DZ - I'm in a lovely hotel in Dundee, working up here for a few more weeks yet, while going home at weekends!! Xxx
Ahh nice! Alot of travelling though! Some girls in my work did that recently. They were working in Liverpool during the week and coming home to Glasgow at weekends...totally knackered them! xxx
I'm from Cambridgeshire so it's only 6hours on train!! After this I'm being made redundant so plenty of time to rest!! Xx
Ohh no! Sorry to hear that! At least it is a bit different compared to a normal 9 to 5 job for a while
