Hi Liana well I am supposed to be going on 9th.march for 1 week ..long story i was offered a free holiday with a group of 6 women friends but one has dropped out and says emphatically she is not going ..so my friend has asked if I want to go of course I want to go but my common sense says no because now LIBYA is in such a state of chaos I think far worse than Tunisia was and today on BBC news the rebels are 30 kms away from taking a hold on Tripoli and they want Gaddaffi out so it will be a bloodbath there add to that the excessive people fleeing to Tunisia from Libya ..and God knows Tunisians do not welcome Libyans in the summer time months because they drink drive and smuglgle drink over the tunisian border and only want to visit Tunisia for the women and to drink excessively ...So I have decided even if my friend says Thomas Cook give her the ok to travel I will not go as yet maybe if she can defer the holiday to the summer I would consider it..also been talking to my man and he said to me to think carefully and not rush into travelling there at this moment in time he said things were still very bad and that I would never understand or believe what was going on there and he hates it now so much..made me feel very sad..
Yes , I know. I have frozen my plans . I will make my mind up in the last possible minute. I guess I will find plenty of space on the plane anyway. One of my friends told me that Tunisia is a bit wild at the moment to stay there and be carefree.
Yes it was a rather violent and bloody weekend, especially Saturday. 5 died in Tunis and more than 40 were wounded. Much of the violence took place on or very near the avenue. Ghannouchi has resigned and in his place is a 90 year old Bourgabia left over dinosaur. Tunisians still are not happy.
Not suprised they are not happy!!!! He will be dead soon! frigging hell what are they thinking???? Get some younger people in there with drive and determination and a REAL love for Tunisia AND her PEOPLE!
I agree. But you can't just pick someone because there's no way to please everyone. In a way Ghannoushi was just trying to stage elections so that things could come down and people could feel like democracy was happening. I wonder what will happen now and I don't see people leaving the Kasbah.
Thanks Alz. The BIL is visiting from Canada and I can actually have a good conversation so he will be my translator for the week! He will be collecting us from the airport. Hubby wouldn't DREAM of allowing me to travel anywhere alone. Awwww i lurrrve himmmm (today)
