Has anyone encountered an Egyptian rat? I know this forum is about Tunisians, but I think the Egyptians are fairly similar in terms of the behaviour described on here. Especially because of the popular Red Sea resorts.

I was scammed by an Egyptian man who I once thought was the most genuine man on the planet. He told me he was homeless, no money for food etc (I know, I'm a fool right?) I believed him because I didn't believe he was the type to do that to me.

Well....he needed the money, to rent a room with his new girlfriend.

I'm sure many here have been scammed similarly....it would be nice to talk to you

Hi @chloe92 !

I've been to Egypt a few times and know exactly how their scammers operate. Actually, it can be even more dangerous in there than in Tunisia. I once made friends with a children animator at one of the top resorts in hurghada...and wow do I regret it. He started with I love you messages and how much he misses me till I told him directly to get lost...he was bombarding me with texts and calls. But was really out of the blue, we didn't have anything romantic or sexual at all!!!!!! Nor did I want to!!!!! I wasn't even into those men. At last point my patience was over and I picked up to tell him I don't believe anyone can fall in love within 10 days and to never contact me again, he cried on the phone, what a performance right? Sent me texts that he'll never forgive me for that  I was 18, he was 27. But I believe I was more pragmatic and direct back then. I didn't wish to connect my life with Egyptian from hurghada who I had no fantasies about since I saw him for what he was.

I'm thinking maybe I should try visiting tunis sometime to get completely disillusioned about my ex...maybe once I see the country and culture all pink clouds will evaporate?

I had one who sent me a picture of his junk. We had a laugh on another thread on this page.
