I know what you mean. Mohamed is the only Tunisian I speak to. He was here once before warning us. Great guy. He is funny and is far from your typical Tunisian. Very successful guy and really smart. He would go against any of these rats. He has taught me a lot about the culture and the good people there. I really can tell the difference in a good Tunisian and a rat. Mine attempted to text me again and tried to insult me. Im petty so I let him have it and blocked him.

When there is so much poverty in Tunisia and high unemployment and, in addition, the culture that is very conservative about women, it is not easy for western women to come in. It usually happens to us that getting the whole bill thinks I would not have trusted me to anyone there.

@Mango Chutney i have also met really nice geniune tunisian men in all my times going there, but i find it a little of a contradiction that the man said why do we dress the way we do ?! I have seen many tunisian girls dress waaaay slutier than us
i have seen many girls being paid for their services by much older tunisian men, these girls will go with much older men so they can have a meal. Drinks bought and gifts.
These girls are nothing but escorts/ prostitutes.
I.keep saying it over and over again , but if we put 2 people together an arab in a burka and a girl who is wearing a bikini , in.the sea swimming or at the pool, for me the burka looks more slutier, the dress when titillated clings to every part of her, for me it looks worse than the bikini. Like a bloody titillated t shirt competition.
Then we have the arab girls bikini or not full make up, lashes and everything to go swimming haha

Haha, trust me.....I've seen them too, but I didn't see them in Hammamet....I was at the real plastic tourist end (Dar Khayam), so really, I only ever saw female tourists and Tunisian men.
The only two young Tunisian women I saw worked in a shop over the road....they always gave me evil looks. They wore hijabs and loose tops. The other women were older ladies, they cleaned in the hotel and were really friendly... (I suspect because I was a good tipper :D ), but again...their clothing was traditional stuff.
Because of this, I always believed the stuff about Tunisian virgins, Tunisian women not leaving the home etc

Once I met rat....and moved to a non tourist area....holy crap....were my eyes opened!!!! Girl, I saw everything you describe and more :D
Had I seen that BEFORE Buddha said that stuff, I would have questioned the hypocrisy, but I genuinely hadn't seen it then....so I didn't question his judgement.
Yup....seen them....those good virgin girls
    Saw that too :D
I saw one woman in a yellow hijab in the sea in Kélibia, my eyesight is shit....I had no glasses on...I swear....I thought it was a feckin duck!!! :D:D
I lost the plot in the most dreadful fit of the giggles when we got closer....and I realised it was a woman! :D:D
    Holy shit.....did I get a bollocking for that....but I couldn't help it! I'd have staked my life on that being a duck!.:D
I also saw this thing in Bardo museum that set me off on a fit of the giggles....got a bollocking for that too :D
Ya....that never made any sense to me either
