    Merry Christmas everyone!
I was a bit off yesterday. Not really feeling the spirit, but I’m back today!
I hope you all had a good Christmas Day! Even if you are not Christian, it is good to take a day and reflect on the important things in life, like your health, your family, and those core things that make up your life.
Be kind to others (which I know everyone here is) and appreciate the small things. The smile from a stranger or store clerk. The sun shining, the rain cleansing the sky.
Even if this forum is all you have right now, think about the fate that we are here together to help each other.
And most importantly, take the time to beleive in yourself! You are all amazing! God Bless. Merry Christmas!

Off course topic but woke up yesterday morning looking like sloth, couldnt open my eye and the side of my head all swollen.
There was no angry red bite mark anywhere but i was sure it was a bite.
Off i went to the pharmacy the pharmacist said she saw no picture on my face of why it would be like that.
I pointed out to her there was a dent in my cheek and that it was clearly a bite from something she said no no insisted that i had fallen or knocked it when i was sleeping.
Now frick me there it is a red huge bite mark on my temple.

That's strange. Is it possible some kind of critter is under the bed or in the house? You might want to check, otherwise if more turn up... could it be a rash?

In Brasil we have spiders that will bite several times in one area. If it gets worse get a doctor to take a look.

Had a shocking day. 2 of the hubbys close friends have been.in a car crash both in a coma and the taxi driver was killed outright.
Happened just outside of our house last night, we heard all the sirens and went to have a look, we didnt realise it was them though.
Been at the hospital all afternoon and just got back now

    The sand fly
Sand flies are about 1/8 of an inch long, and have hairy, brownish-gray wings. They hold their wings above their bodies in a “V” shape and are most active between dusk and dawn. The larvae look like worms.

They’re found mainly in tropical and subtropical climates. They breed in places with a lot of moisture, such as decaying plants, moss, and mud. In the United States they’re mostly found in the southern states.

Sand flies eat nectar and sap, but females also feed on the blood of animals and humans.

    Symptoms
In general, sand fly bites are painful and may cause red bumps and blisters. These bumps and blisters can become infected or cause skin inflammation, or dermatitis.

Sand flies transmit diseases to animals and humans, including a parasitic disease called leishmaniasis. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), leishmaniasis is rare in the United States. You may contract it during travel to a foreign country. There are no vaccinations to prevent leishmaniasis. Symptoms include skin sores weeks or months after the bite. They often clear up without treatment, but can be serious in some cases.

    Treatment
You can apply hydrocortisone or calamine lotion directly to the bites to help them heal and reduce itching. Oatmeal baths and aloe vera can also soothe itching. For persistent sores or ulcers, you should see a doctor.

How awful. Their road traffic accident rate is incredibly high. I’m sure I read somewhere that it’s the highest reason for deaths in the under 30’s. Don’t know much about their emergency health care, maybe they are in induced coma following head injuries. I’m guessing no seat belts. They seem adverse to wearing them. Traumatic for you to see it all playing out though.

Have you been exposed to anyone with chicken pox? Your description sounds rather like shingles. Common on one side of the face and temple and corner of the eye. Pin prick type rash appears within a few days. Let me know if you need more info.

If you have, GFTL, you need to see your midwife....it's dangerous in pregnancy....though more so towards the end.
My bites swelled up dreadful over there, but they always went for my legs, the little shites...not my face.

Are your hubby’s friends married with children? I pray for their families. My mother died 9 days after her accident. It was the hardest 9 days of my life.

One of them is but the other one is single and is a guardian to his younger sister as the mother died last year.

@Brasilgirl must of been horrendous for you. Sending you love and hugs.

I have a video of the accident but not appropriate at all for the forum and it is distressing to watch anyone go through that
