    You can make it without the bacon. I’ve had it done vegan before.

    true, never heard of them being prepared that way, mustard, ketchup and sugar...those are corn dog ingredients...:D

    Ingredients

    ∙ Serves 8
    Produce
    • 2 Bay leaves
    • 14 oz Black beans, dried
    • 6 cloves Garlic
    • 1 Onion
    • 1/2 tbsp Oregano
    Baking & Spices
    • 1 tsp Salt
    Oils & Vinegars
    • 1 tbsp Olive oil
    • 1 tsp White vinegar
    Nuts & Seeds
    • 1 tsp Cumin
    Liquids
    • 8 cups Water
    Other
    • 1 Green bell pepper or 3 small aji dulce chopped

    New Orleans Red Beans And Rice
    Ingredients

    Gluten free
    Meat
    • 1/3 cup Pancetta
    • 1/2 lb Sausage, cooked smoked
    Produce
    • 2 Bay leaves
    • 1 lb Beans, dried red
    • 3 Celery stalks
    • 3 cloves Garlic
    • 1 Green onions
    • 1 Green or red bell pepper
    • 2 tbsp Parsley, fresh
    • 2 tsp Thyme, fresh
    • 1 Yellow onion, large
    Canned Goods
    • 10 cups Chicken stock
    Pasta & Grains
    • 6 cups White rice, cooked
    Baking & Spices
    • 1/2 tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
    • 1 pinch Cayenne
    • 1/2 tsp Salt

    have tried this style too.. seriously never with ketchup and mustard. enough with the beans..lol

    I don’t know. I never read the ingredients.
    We don’t add condiments to our beans in Brasil.

    I always add brown sugar to fried onions. Just looking at some of these recipes. Sound lush. But what are navy beans? And are red beans - red kidney beans and one recipe says use dried black beans but don’t you have to soak and pre cook them? I thought you could die from uncooked red kidney beans?
